Lahti Polytechnic - Institute of Design
Institute of Design is a part of Lahti polytechnic, which is a large, multidisciplinary institution of higher education, located some 100 km north of the Finnish capital, Helsinki.
The Degree Programmes in Design and Visual Communication base their education on the visual arts and humanities.
Their aim is to educate professionals to work in society and business with the ability to design and give concrete and visually perceivable form to objects, communication and services in our society.

The University of Art and Design Helsinki
The University of Art and Design Helsinki gives education and pursues research in the fields of design, motion picture, audiovisual communication, art education and arts. There are six schools and sixteen fields of education and research. The University is the largest art school in Scandinavia: there are nearly 1700 students, 14% of which come from abroad, and 400 teachers. Furthermore, 1700 students participate in extension studies annually and 800 students in the studies at the open university.

University of Lapland - Faculty of Art and Design
The Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland was established in 1990. There are only two Universities in Finland that offer a degree in art and design: the University of Lapland and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. The Faculty has five departments and five degree programmes: art education, media studies with audiovisual media culture and graphic design programmes, industrial design, and textile & clothing design.
