European Design Awards 2010 - Call for entries
Deadline for submissions: February 15, 2010
The doors are now open to all graphic designers to compete for European Design Stars; the trophies handed out each year at the ED Awards ceremony.
For the fourth successive year, ED Awards invites visual communication professionals to submit their works to the finest pan-European judging panel.
Categories include branding; posters; typeface; book & editorial illustration; motion graphics; packaging; promotional sites; annual reports, etc.
Fourteen editors from leading European graphic design magazines will judge the entries and reward the best designs.
The winners, including the "Jury's Prize" and the "Agency of the Year" will be announced at the ED Festival which, this year, will be held in the city of Rotterdam between May 28 - 30, 2010.

Faces of Design Awards 2010
Deadline: December 15th
This design competition is based on your existing portfolio, and culminates in the publication of a printed volume, showcasing the 25 most promising design talents, by design discipline (e.g. graphic design). This collection of profiles will be distributed to over 1.000 key decision makers at more than 300 companies, including firms such as vitra, IKEA, the Richemont Group (including prestigious brands such as Montblanc, Cartier and Chloe), designers' studios such as the Campanas' and Bouroullecs', and the design press.
In the first round of the Faces of Design Awards, you have the opportunity to present the best elements of your portfolio to the judges in a safe online environment, followed by a second round with our high-profile panel.
The winners of the Faces of Design Awards will then have their profiles published and distributed to opinion leaders and key decision makers in design worldwide.

Illustrative 2009

After Paris and Zurich, Illustrative will finally return to Berlin. With 600 works from more than 80 artists, the biggest exhibition for contemporary illustrative art and graphics showcases an inspiring density of illustrative art. In the centre of Illustrative lies an exhibition of worldwide renowned artists. In close cooperation with these artists, Illustrative showcases and discusses the multifaceted genre and anticipates cutting-edge visual culture. The show is supplemented by an exhibition of the winners of the Swatch Young Illustrators Award.
